Japanese Milk Bread

Writer's picture: dinosaurmadedinosaurmade

I haven't baked in a while, and I saw this recipe and knew this was the one to break the dry spell! I made some delicious Japanese milk bread, and boy is it pretty! That brown crust. That fluffy middle. Mmmmm so tasty. Slightly sweet, it's a great snack or dessert bread.

This was the first time I made it, so I decided to make it plain as a nice base line for possible future loaves with add-ins. I'm definitely making a Nutella/chocolate one next! Then maybe a cinnamon or caramel one.

I covered the top with foil about five minutes into the second baking temperature so it didn't get too dark.

Also make sure to line the pan with parchment paper or butter and flour the inside very well. I tore up the bottom and sides trying to get it out of the pan because the dough is very sticky.
