This is a pattern that is very simple and I completed in a day.
This is my very first knitting pattern, so my apologies if it's not up to snuff. It's been a long time coming, but to be fair, I'd still consider myself a student of knitting and by no means an expert yet. Here goes nothing!

Easy Slouchy One-Day Beanie
Created by Sarah Ratliff of Dinosaur Made
Supplies
DK weight yarn
3.75mm (US 5) DPNs or 32”/40” circular needles for magic loop technique
4.5mm (US 7) DPNs or 32”/40” circular needles for magic loop technique
5mm (US 8) DPNs or 32”/40” circular needles for magic loop technique
Tapestry needle or other blunt needle
Using 3.75mm (US 5) needles, cast on 96 stitches. I prefer the long-tail cast on method because it provides a nice stretchy edge.
Ribbed Brim
Join in the round, placing marker at the beginning of the round. Make sure there are no twists before joining.
(K2P2) around
Continue in ribbed pattern until piece measures about 1” from cast on edge or until brim reaches desired length.
Body
Work in stockinette until hat measures about 3” from CO edge. Switch to 4.5mm (US 7) needles. Continue working in stockinette until hat measures about 4 ½” from CO edge. Switch to 5mm (US 8) needles. Continue working in stockinette until hat measures about 9 ½”-10” or desired length (the longer the body, the more the hat will slouch).
Crown
(K1, K2tog) around for one round.
You can change needles to a smaller size (4.5mm US 7 or 4mm US 6) to ensure there are no large gaps in the coming decreases, but it is up to your discretion.
K next round
K2tog next round
Repeat the previous two rows until 8 stitches remain.
Break yarn and leave a long tail (about 12”). Using a tapestry needle, thread the tail through the remaining stitches and pull closed.
Weave in ends.
